No Sky HD channels on Sky Q

I've just had my sky dish installed and the driver has left. However when setting up my favourites I noticed I don't have HD Channels for Sky Showcase, Max and the other sky entertainment channels. 

I have HD on Sky Sports and Sky Movies and the terrestrial channels but nothing for Sky's own channels. I've tried updating the software (which the installer said he'd done) but still nothing. 

Can anyone help? Feel a bit shortchanged

Sounds like you haven't got the HD add-on.

Try rebooting your main Sky Q box and see if that re-sets things.

~ Using the remote put your main Sky Q box into standby
~ switch the box off at the plug
~ wait at least 30 seconds and then switch the box back on at the plug
~ follow the on screen instructions
~ when the screen goes blank and the blue Q stops pulsating wait another 30 seconds
~ press the 🏠 button

if that doesn't work and you've definitely subscribed to the HD add-on I think you'll need to contact Sky to refresh your card.

Check the 800s to see if you have them listed and can view.

it may just be a case of the smart switch of channel numbers not yet kicking in (which a power down reboot might cure)

This is the case with mine. I have all the packages but for some reason all the HD channels (apart from the terrestrial channels) are in the 800s. 

I've tried everything, resetting box, settings, and a card refresh but nothing has brought them up to the top of the EPG. Spoke to Sky yesterday who said this is just how it is (??) but at my other property all the HD channels are at the top as they should be. Can anyone help?

I believe the Sky sports HD add-on is separate from the other Sky Channels HD add-on so I would double check that.

If the HD channels are in the 800s & you select one does the 'you need to upgrade to view' message appear?

Hi Virginia thanks for the reply. 

No, the channels themselves work fine, it's just that they're at the bottom of the Guide, which although isn't really a big issue it's a big annoyance to navigate to unless I learn the exact numbers. Sky seemed to think that it's correct, but I know it's not.

Yes they should be listed under the correct channel numbers. Have you tried turning off the box, then unplugging it & leaving it for a few minutes then plugging back in again?

That makes sense that the SD channels would move to the 800s.

I have turned it off a couple of times in the past. Maybe I should leave it longer unplugged? On the phone yesterday we tried resetting the settings, and then refreshing the viewing card. The lady said these are the only two things she could do. 

What would you suggest my next move is?

@Sidl618  You can set the channels in the 800's that you regularly watch as favourites then you don't have to remember/worry about the epg numbers.
