Same problem here , every time I turned TV on I had to reset hdmi , I did find the problem it happened when the box went into standby so I changed the settings so it did not go into standby which solved the problem

We have now changed all HDMI leads. Start up not quick but I don't have to unplug the lead. I have found to problem is less when the sky box is using 8 bit for UHD. Still getting picture drops outs now and then even on recordings.

Unbelievable they haven't fixed this yet.
Shocking really.
I need HDMI EARC to get decent sound to my receiver from TV apps as well as things plugged directly into the TV.
That means I need to leave HDMI control on. Works perfect with everything except SKY Q, which of course keeps failing and producing the dreaded black screen.
Fix it SKY.

Hi have now left mine Sky Q set to 8-but and it seems ok on start up. I have also turned off EARC and sound drop outs seem much better.
not ideal but better than it was for now.

Ok but I have all those things (plus 10bit colour) switched on across my Yamaha receiver and Panasonic TV and have no issues so the root cause is difficult to pin down.

I have now set the sky Q box to 1080i. it seems to have sorted the sound and picture drops. Sound back to EARC and so far all good. The picture is actually better than ever watching HD on the G4.
All seemed to switch on ok too.

How long is the HDMI cable?

3 meters. I do have a 2 m one and have tried them all during the last couple of months. All leads and all HDMI ports. Nothing has worked until changing the sky Q resolution.
