No Dolby Atmos on Sky Sports UHD

I noticed at the weekend that I am currently getting Stereo PCM sound on Sky Sports UHD channel. I am not sure if it is affecting all Live TV content (as it's difficult to reliably know if a broadcast should be in Dolby or Stereo), but it is definitely not affecting downloaded UHD content.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue and is there a remedy?

What specific sport were you watching - The Solheim Cup (& indeed any Golf) for instance is only 2.0 - although it should be DD+ (not PCM)  2.0 on the UHD feed. 

F1 is usually 5.1 (never Atmos)

Only sports like Football & Cricket are usually Atmos

I presume you have checked that your box is set to DD+

I'm watching cricket now and first noticed it on the football on Sunday.

Just found that Sky News was showing as broadcasting in Dolby 2.0, so it's not that all live TV is now PCM.

Box digital audio output HDMI is set to DD+ as ever. Audio optical output was also set to DD, although this shouldn't make a difference either way.

I have a Sonos Beam soundbar connected via eARC. I've had this setup for a long time and never experienced an issue. I wondered if Sky generally is having a temporary issue with Sky Sports and Dolby Atmos, seeing as I'm still getting Atmos in downloaded content. There doesn't seem to be an obvious fix at my end, although I have tried removing the HDMI cable and reconnecting it.

PCM 2.0 is potentially better quality than Dolby 2.0

So just to be clear you are only getting 2.0 sound from SKY Sports ME UHD channel currently watching the Cricket ?

I have just checked my feed & it is coming through as DD+/Atmos (5.1 on the SKY Cricket HD) 

If you are getting 2.0 on the UHD feed do you also only get 2.0 on the HD channel

BTW If checking during Advert breaks they are only 2.0 so need to wait for the Sports coverage

hmmm very strange - please can you humour me & try watching some UHD content that  you have downloaded  without changing any other setting and see if that does come through as Atmos or 5.1 as you have previously found.

thanks for your help @nigea99 , I'm appreciating it.

downloaded Megan on Sky Cinema UHD - playing Atmos fine.

I am assuming this is unlikely to be an error with the Sonos app? It's how I'm ascertaining what kind of audio is playing. Again, never had an issue with any of this before. I can usually tell when something doesn't sound right (I'm no audiophile whatsoever), which is when I check, and lo and behold the Newcastle game was not in Atmos but (according to the Sonos app) stereo PCM.

@Chodley yes I understand that that is the case, although I've no idea why.

FIXED

I erroneously had audio description activated. Disabling this has restored Atmos and 5.1.

It's a shame people requiring that accessibility feature are denied Atmos content.

I am not getting Dolby Atmos on the Brighton Aston Villa match on TNT Sports . Has anyone else got this problem
