New viewing card but need to upgrade subscription

My sky viewing card stopped working last Sunday and finally got a new one nearly 2 weeks later but now it's saying I need to upgrade my subscription. What the hell???? Why am I paying over £100 a month for a service I've not been able to use for nearly 2 weeks?!?!

@Kyle1390 have you been able to pair your new card(if you can) by  pressing home > settings > system info > viewing card number > setup > viewing card setup press select to trigger a callback don't worry nothing to do with your phone its only Sky's terminology this will be done over the internet

@Kyle1390 what are you getting the upgrade messages on is this when downloading if so do you have the HD pack as Sky signature comes with live TV, catchup and boxsets.in SD as standard you may be trying to download the programme in HD

The default download setting is HD so try changing the format to download in SD

you can change the default to SD by Pressing Home on your Sky Q remote and select Settings, then Setup.
Select Preferences, then 'On Demand default download format', and choose SD.

Yes that's fixed it thank you, would have been nice if they put that info in the letter that came with the card
