New sky q mini box has messed up whole system

Hi

 

Purchased an additional sky q  mini box went to install yesterday.  I have connected ones before with no issues.

It wouldn't connect to main box. Now all the additional mini boxes 2 others now won't connect.

Main sky q box .... against the watch on additional sky mini boxes has a X against it . It won't reactivate . Tried everything yesterday and called tech help,  after 1 hrs on the phone and going around in circles we are no further on. (Just did everything I did 4 more times)  Sending an engineer out on Wednesday.

Just wondering if a full reset on the main sky q box is worth a try?

Where did you acquire this mini box from? And you didn't purchase (buy) it.

I know i Didn't buy it.... ok then rented from Sky. But I did pay £50 for it so did pay a purchase price as such....

That's basically just a delivery fee but yeah, pedantry - just some people buy hookey boxes and think they own them.

 

I would do a network reset at least on the Q with all boxes powered down and then re-do the connection one at a time.

 

They will form a mesh and dynamicallt choose which box is in charge of the internet connection. It's not the most stable system ever.

Thanks.

I've tried all that yesterday,  just wondered if a full factory reset would be worth a try. We cannot get the boxes to connect to the Q. It just continues to have a  X against the mini box option on settings.

When you do a full reset on the mini it should do the "step 1 to 4" thing from the start, no reactivation through the menu. Is it doing (or attempting to do) that?
