New sky q box in attic. We live in a bungalow. The old sk q box used to work now the new one does….

Just got a new sky q box, the remote does not work. The box is in the attic above the tv, we live in a bungalow. The old sky box remote always worked before. Any suggestions?

Have you paired the new remote to your new Q box and to the TV?

@Sandra93 the new remote will not be paired by bluetooth it will only be working by infra red. You need to pair the remote to the box to use bluetooth unfortunately to do this the remote needs to be able to see the Q box.

As I said above the following instructions need the remote to have  line of sight to the Q box 

Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

@Laing1 @If I do pair the remote to the box whilst in the attic, will the remote work when on front of tv?

@Sandra93 once it's paired and set up for bluetooth then yes it will work as your old remote worked i live in a 2 storey house but the attic has been converted to another room. I had for some reason taken our remote up there think i was changing the batteries and my wife wondered why the TV was changing channels
