Hi,
Just upgraded my TV to a new Panasonic oled. Everytime I power down over night, the skq q box won't recognise hdr 10 bit. I have to removed the hdmi cable and re insert and then it will work. I've tried different cables and ports so it's not that.
Any ideas?

Check the HDMI settings on the TV and make sure the port you are using is set to Mode2 - this allows UHD & HDR to be passed without fault. Check the settings on the Q box and set it to 2160P 10 bit.

I have set the sky q box to HDR 10, but when I turn the TV on the next day it won't let me watch HDR content until I unplug the cable in and out again. Never had a problem with my last Panasonic TV. What you meant by port 2 sorry?

It's on the Panasonic TV settings menu. Each HDMI port can be set to a different mode to enable HDR, VRR, etc. Check the manual for your specific model online and you'll find the exact location on your settings.
Sky Q needs to be set to 2160P 10bit and detect a TV which is capable of the HLG format of HDR. It will only only output HLG HDR for Sky content. Only the apps on Sky Q will output HDR10, but in all honesty, you are much better off using the apps built in to your new OLED TV. They are much better and capable of outputting Dolby Vision and HDR10+ from their on-board apps.

Strange. Are you turning the TV fully off at the wall or leaving it on standby?
Might be worth making sure the TV is powered on before turning the Q box on - it sounds like it may be a timing thing and the HDMI handshake isn't fully engaging so the Q box isn't registering the TV's capabilities.

Just leaving it on standby. I know it's really weird, yes it's seems like they are not matching up for some reason.

What's the model number of the TV? I have a Panasonic OLED and it's never had any issues with receiving all HDR formats from external devices.

I've got a JZ1000 so it's a couple of years older than yours and uses Panasonic's older Home Screen OS rather than Android TV. I've certainly never experienced any such issues. Might be worth trying a certified HDMI 2.1 cable so you can get the maximum bandwidth possible. I upgraded all my cables a few years ago and have never had an issue. You can get certified cables from Amazon for less than a tenner.

Yes I had no troubles with my old Panasonic TV as that wasn't android. Already using the a new 2.1 cable and tired the old sky one to no avail.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI would call Panasonic. Their tech support is usually quite good.
I assume the TV software is up to date?

Thanks for your help. I've managed to fix it. The hdmi option wasn't set to 2.0, it was set to auto.
