New Sky Q box not supported.

Just received a new Sky Q box. All plugged in and set up yesterday. Today I have a screen on my Samsung TV that says: HDMI 1 Mode Not Supported. Resolution not supported. Change the Resolution of the external device. No idea what this means or why it has appeared today. Anyone help please?

hi @JJT1

With the SKY Q box on (Green Led lit) try pressing the following keys on your SKY Q remote in sequence

Home 1 0 8 0 Home

this should change the SKY Q box to the universally supported 1080 resolution which should allow you to watch and change in menus

If you then want to change to 4K, you may need to change settings in your TV's Picture or HDMI menus

Re: New Sky Q box not supported.

No, that hasn't worked. Nothing has happened. When I go to source on my tv it doesn't recognise the sky box at all. As if it is not connected. I tried a manual set up but the TV just doesn't recognise the box. This is a replacement box as the last one stopped working properly.

hi @JJT1

If you haven't already tried, try taking out the HDMI cable at both ends and re-seating it (or if you have one use a different HDMI cable)

Re: New Sky Q box not supported.

I have done that. I have basically tried everything possible. There obviously isn't an answer so I guess I'll have to try a new box again.

hi @JJT1

Please may I suggest you try pressing the Home 1 0 8 0 Home keys again , just pausing briefly between each press.

Re: New Sky Q box not supported.

Thanks for your help. I ended up phoning Sky and apparently it will work now. We'll see! 😜
