Netflix through Sky or directly from Netflix

My wife has been watching Netflix Basic with advertisements by way of a limited-time Christmas present. That arrangement has come to an end.

We have Sky Q/Signature/HD (but not UHD)/ Sport/ Multiroom.

What is the cheapest Netflix package moving forward to match the Basic package that she already has? Is Sky better than Netflix direct?

@Blighty

Netflix billed through Sky is generally somewhat cheaper than getting it directly from Netflix themselves, particularly if the Sky subscriber already has the Sky HD or HD & UHD add-ons for other reasons.

Note however that the 'Extra Members' feature is not available when billed through Sky (or another Netflix partner) which is a distinct and expensive disadvantage in some circumstances.

Hi @Blighty

Assuming you subscribe through Sky
Sky Ultimate TV includes the Netflix Basic plan (1 screen + HD)
You can upgrade to Netflix Standard (2 screens + HD) by adding the HD pack On Sky Q.
You can upgrade to Netflix Premium (4 screens + UHD/HDR) by adding the Ultra HD pack (requires the HD pack first) on Sky Q.

Ultimate TV Add on: £6 extra pm with new 18-month minimum term on Sky Signature (£29pm). Download to watch on the go: Netflix content: Download using Netflix app. Offline viewing of Netflix content subject to Netflix Terms of Use.

Re: Netflix through Sky or directly from Netflix

Thank you. That is so much clearer than I have read elsewhere.

My Sky page says this:

£7 Previous price £6 Offer price £6 a month 31-day rolling contract.

Signature is committed to the end of the term. Does the 31-day rolling contract apply to the upgrade only?

Excellent help. That is added information that I needed to know. Thank you. I will 'phone Sky at the end of September when my wife's Netflix gift expires.

Note that since the last post, the Sky HD and UHD add-ons no longer upgrade Netflix: that's now done by separately priced Netflix supplements.
