Netflix app wont open

When I try to open Netflix on my mini box I get the Netflix screen with a spinning red circle but it doesn't load. I've tried updating the software and the app refresh.

Netflix is working on the main sky a box.

any suggestions please?

Yes, it only seems to be the main Q box for some reason (I don't have multi-room myself) although I think someone did mention a mini box but that could be down to a weak WiFi signal.

The apps may use the HDD to stop buffering issues so if it was at 99% full then that may cause an issue.

If it happens again then enter another app (iPlayer or ITVX for instance), this should clear Netflix out of memory forcing a full shut down of the app. Then go back to the Neflix app.

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

OK i deleted some films from sky but the overall space was minimal anyway, i switched of the power for over an hour and restarted and got Netfilix up, however that was all too easy.

I have no problems getting into you tube the only other app. i use.

Netfilx have said that its Sky that has the problem and Sky addmitted this to me yeterday, hense the 10 credit !

The q box may well have an issue but after a month Sky should have been able to fix an issues, either they havnt got the expertise or just dont care ?

A month? It was happening from at least June and I think earlier.

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

@cjchris try shutting down your network. Router, switches and Sky q boxes. Leave them off for at least a minute. Then switch back on, starting with the router. Wait for that come online. Then any switches, then the main Q box. After that is back up and running, switch on any mini boxes.
I've had this Netflix issue for a little while, and this is the only thing that has fixed it. It's been working flawlessly for a few days now

Doesn't work for me I'm afraid. I've done all of the above, flushed my DNS etc, still nope.

There's no way of knowing if a month is long enough or not. I've seen software issues, in products people were paying millions for, take a year or more to get resolved. Or if it's something Sky alone can fix or they depend on Netflix engineers. Or worse, a fix in some 3rd party component in the Q software. I mean they probably care a lot less than they would if their billing system fell over but I think they care a bit.

How did you flush your DNS? Do you mean on your router?
