Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

Tried the BBCi player thing and doesn't work for me. My Netflix is still intermittent, more times than not, not working.

Kirsty, is there an update on the progress please?

Netflix won’t load

Any clues on why Netflix doesn't load through Sky? The only way I can get it to work is by turning the box off at the mains and resetting. I have to do this every time I want to watch it. I've checked software version and updated apps with no luck. Loads on my iPad no problem

Re: Netflix won’t load

Have you tried resetting the apps ? From another post

Then try refreshing the Apps again in the Hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Select Apps
then highlight Refresh all Apps on this box.
You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'. This will stay on screen until you press Dismiss to return to normal viewing
It’s recommended waiting at least 5 minutes before doing

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

Netflix loading/not loading sporadically for the past month, using a Sky Q Box, on a Sony TV (not smart TV, so can't load/unload the app from any Play store because there isn't one).
"NETFLIX" and the red ring of death just hangs on the screen.
Have tried everything from turning on/off, sequentially turning on each device, i.e. rooter, broadband, then Sky Q Box, then loading the Netflix App. Not working. Tried to use the hidden settings on the Sky Q Box to reload the apps. Tried signing Netflix out of the TV from another device, still not working. Rebooting not working.

Netflix not able to provide any answers. Completely unsatisfactory response.

Eventually after a treble time rebooting sequentially it has loaded.

Then even from within the Netflix App there is no way to update or anything else I can see that prevents this from happening.

Sky have you any response on this, it would appear to be a software glitch, and only with Netflix, all other apps are working fine.

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

Hi Kirsty,

Can we have an update on this ongoing issue please?

Re: Netflix has not been loading properly for several months

I have been on the phone with Sky technical for 45 minutes with the same Netflix not loading problem.

The lad was great and he had me check and change lots of things in my sky settings.

The answer he came up with to sort the issue once and for all was.

Dont use sky Q to watch Netflix, use the app on the smart TV.

So why do I pay for sky Q where I can watch all my other apps?

well done Sky,  22 years I've been a customer and your answer to a problem is don't use SkyQ.

Please find a fix Sky, this is super frustrating!

I don't know why anyone who has this problem perseveres with trying to use it. So many other ways to access Netflix.

Whilst there has been some help from from Superusers and Kirtsy in this post I have to say that has to be a pretty unhelpful and useless comment.

Yes of course there are however I pay for a service from SKY that includes Netflix being available via my Sky Q box.

When my TV system comes in it links my TV, amp and sky. So to access NF I should just scroll down into the Apps, select NF and off we go.

I could switch back to Freeview on be TV then access NF and then watch it there.

I could watch it on my computer

I could watch it on my phone.

However I pay for a service from SKY and I don't get what I paid for.

You're not a Sky employee but have been made a SUPERUSER. So for the benefit of those if us who have the issue - and the many more who do not contribute to the forum perhaps keep the dialogue and feedback going with Sky as that would be more helpful

Sorry I can't fix it as I don't have acess to the code, but I am being pragmatic. if you think that part of what you're paying for is no dolby vision and no 24fps support then great, keep trying and getting frustrated. For the sake of 2 button presses (which is much quicker than navigating the Q menu to the app) I'll just carry on using the TV app, even though my Sky one works fine.

What you're really paying sky for is the integrated search and a cheaper subscription.

the integration is quite useful on minis where a second or third TV might not have the app (but a firestick solves that)

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

I don't have built in Freeview so we rely on sky to watch NF on the TV. Of course we could watch it on the phones but what fun is that.

The app on sky needs to be sorted as it's been going on for long enough now!!

I don't think you're reading the room here.

And I'm glad you're happy with how you access NF. I and many others are not!!?

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

@MarkJ22

It is frustrating, but I do agree that life is too short to waste your time thinking about this is you have the NF issue and you have an alternative way of acessing the subscription. There's nothing much we or the super users can do here- Sky say they're working on a fix, so you either have to believe them and wait or protest with your feet by finding a new provider.

So why keep trying the same thing then? When it's WORKING access via Sky Q is worse than using the TV app.

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

Aren't Sky supposed to supply a service on all platforms? We shouldn't have to go searching for other ways to watch Netflix just because, for whatever reason, they can't get it fixed! It's not good enough!!
