Well, the suggestion worked for a while.
However we have just sat down to watch a film. It played 20 seconds and then the app crashed and it went back to sky. Now....will not load again

Well that at least is new although of no help to you. Have you tried plugging the box out for 60 seconds?

Colin,

What was it you actually did to resolve your issue? I'm happy to try anything to solve my problem.

I'm uncertain what exactly helped with mine but have you tried Kirsty's suggestion on the first page (the "answer") first off? "Test Participation" off.

I have my Q box hardwired to the router with no mini boxes so I turned off the WiFi from settings (the hidden settings option).

I have had to turn the box off 3 times (I think) since mine was resolved but for recordings issues, I've had no issues with Netflix since June I believe it was. I was using the the built in SmartTV App for awhile before that myself.

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

I'll give that a try Colin, thanks. I do have a mini box which NETFLIX works with no issues. It's the main box where I have the issue.

Thanks again

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

@Anonymous yes, I did unplug the box for longer than 60 seconds. Unfortunately this makes no difference. I did switch off the test participation, which instantly got Netflix up and running, but only for a short period. My boxes are hard wired, so wifi is completely off. I did log in to Netflix website again and sign out of the sky boxes. This made no difference either as it just won't get as far as a log in page. Again, this is only on the main box. All 3 mini boxes work perfectly.

Re: Netflix sporadically not loading

I have the same problem, Netflix just hangs on the logo screen, with over 6000+ views on this topic lets hope somebody at Sky / Netflix are monitoring.

Have you tried a Q box reboot @Suzan1

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Are you using WiFi? If so, then can you try a wired connection and turn off WiFi on the Q box in the hidden settings?

****************************************

How to access the Sky Q hidden engineers menu

Please follow the below instructions in quick succession with no breaks between steps.

  1. Press the ‘Home’ button on your remote control.
  2. Scroll down to ‘Settings’ and DO NOT press select.
  3. Press ‘001’.
  4. Press ‘Select’

Re: Netflix app crashing/won't load

My problem also started once I had an upgrade to fibre as well so the problem definitely lies with sky fiber Internet, I am sure of it. I have had it for the last 9 years without ever having a problem with it until July when I upgraded.
