Mybox keeps losing internet connection. I reset it it and it lasts a few minutes before cutting out
My sky q box keeps losing internet connection. I have tried reset but it only lasts a few minutes before cutting out again
Other things are connected with no problems.

Hi @Pacman1234
Are you carrying out a Network reset as follows;
Try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router.
If you are on Sky broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

Hi old fella, yes, I have done that. My provider is talktalk and I get WiFi connected but within a few minutes the box loses the connection again. I have completed the process around 10 times now.

Mine is the same. Internet connecting for around 5 minutes then goes into disconnected. I'm on talk talk. No problem with any other linked Wi-Fi. Fire stick. Tablets etc all fine Was there a solution to this ?

I have exactly the same problem, was totally fine when we were with sky, but as soon as we moved suppliers (SKY couldn't offer full fibre in our area but others could) we've had problems the in laws have the same issue, they ended up getting a new Sky Q box and as far as I know they haven't had an issue since.. 🫠 think it's actually SKY trying to get us to swap back 😂

Thanks for replying. I explained it to sky who sent an engineer and installed a booster which has solved the problem.

@Pacman1234 Ahh good to know, I'll give them a shout tomorrow and see what can be done, it's rather annoying as you know 😅

I found some help addressing this. Turn off "Eco" and also switch off the 2.4GHz signal on the boxes. Takes a while (a day) to settle down but since doing this I haven't had any further problems. Big relief because it's been a right pain for months

Mine continues to do this. I've had engineer out twice. They fiddle with settings and it's fine for a few days then back to internet drop out. My daughter has autism and I'm getting stress from her so much so I'm thinking of cancelling my sky package altogether

Re: Mybox keeps losing internet connection. I reset it it and it lasts a few minutes before cutting
I was a little cheeky, I used the "need some help?" Bit on the My Sky app and ordered a replacement box. (Fixing a problem, Sky Q equipment, choose Sky Q box is noisy or warm / no power and there's a blue "replace your Sky Q box" link. They'll arrange for a new box to be delivered in a couple of days, they'll swap the box over on delivery. Haven't had any issues (touch wood) since I got the replacement, can only guess it was a hardware fault.

Re: Mybox keeps losing internet connection. I reset it it and it lasts a few minutes before cutting
I've had this same problem approx every 12 months.
Box gets hot. Is a bit noisier. Internet drops.
reset, reconnect, ok for a few minutes. Drops again.
turn the box off for a few hours solves the problem for a while but it soon returns. Hotter weather seems (not proven) to make it worse.
a replacement box fixes the issue.
now onto 3rd box in 3 years.
seems like they should be looking at the problem and looking for the cause, but hey, not my business model!!!
