My Sky Q was due to end tomorrow. But no it ended today. I know it has ended because I received a email from Netflix telling me my account was paused.
I don't know what I was expecting. But my box did not turn on at all. The light on the box remained orange. Just wanted to confirm this is what should happen.
I have no problem with this.

Hi @Dingleannie
Ending your Sky Q subscription should not stop your Q box from switching on.
Have you tried pressing the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the Q box.
If this turns the Q box on
Try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.
Ultimately Sky will request return of all Sky Q equipment

Ending your Sky Q subscription should not stop your Q box from switching on.

@oldfella Just a quick update. I unplugged the sky box (No intention of turning it back on) I was curious, plugged it back in and it now works. So I do have Sky Q for the one day they said.

Before you return the Sky Q box back to Sky remove the viewing card and keep it for a while. Should you decide in the next few months to return to Sky Q, Sky will supply another Q box but will have expected you to keep the card.

So my Sky Q has definitely ended now. It came on and all the sky channels are gone (apart from Sky News). My recordings, catch up etc are gone. I can't now pause or rewind. If fact it's now just a fancy freeview box.
Just waiting for the packaging to arrive.
Big massive Thanks to all of you who have helped me on this and the Sky+ forums.
