My tv won’t connect to the internet

I tried my tv today, just wanted to watch something on Netflix, my tv said it wasn't connected to the internt

 

It is everything is connected

phone, pc's kindle 


My tv is a LG and it has a wired connection, everything is plugged in correctly, this had just occurred over the past 24 hours

 

is it worth calling Sky?

lead, follow or get out of the dam way lol

Hi @Derrick241 

You need to be clear whether it is your LG TV not connecting to your internet or whether it is your Q Box!

No good calling Sky if it is your LG TV connected by Ethernet.

The Sky q box isn't connected, it won't connect to the internet, keeps telling me to check my connection, it's connected to the router and the Sky q box with an Ethernet cable, won't even connect through Wi-Fi

Well asking here was a waste of time, only one reply and that was pretty useless


After waiting 30 odd minutes for Sky to answer the phone

 

Goole was a lot more help

 

i was all down to a WPS  button on the side of the router (very hard to find)

 

That had to be reset

 

Did that and my Sly Q is working now

To be fair to the poster who replied they did ask if it was your LG TV  that you posted about as your post does suggest it was the TV at issue not Sky Q, not even a mention of SKy Q in your post, had you been more clear the replies would have been also.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

In my case it is my TV that wont connect to the internet. It is LG. I have Sky Broadband which previously connected fine to the TV but for the past 6 months it would not connect??  I didnt realise I could connect to Sky brpadband via my Sky Q Box. Can I connect both my Sky Q box and the TV to internet. While I realise I can get Netflix throuugh Sky - there are other Apps on the TV whiich I cant use without a connection. Is this a TV issue or is the connection to Sky preventing my TV from connecting?

I am not an expert but what errors do you get when trying to connect your TV to your home wifi ?

Anything else you can advise ?

 

As an aside if your TV  won't connect to your wifi  you could try using an ethernet cable from your TV to the SKY Q box
