My tv needs software update but my sky remote won’t let me go it

My tv needs software update but my sky remote won’t let me do it any ideas please.

The software update keeps coming up every hour we have to keep restarting the tv 📺

You need to use your tv's remote

As it is a software update for your TV I am afraid you do need the TV's own remote - SKY's remote only controls the volume,  power & Input source

Switching to SKY would not stop your TV's own remote from working.

I am afraid you either need to get it working or see if you can borrow one from someone you may know with a similar TV or buy a new/used one

Using the Sky remote doesn't stop the TV's own remote from working. Have you tried different batteries?

As noted above, pairing a Sky remote with a television set does nothing to change the set itself, and cannot prevent the television remote from working.  Whatever is up with the handset, it's coincidental.

Unfortunately a paired Sky remote cannot either action or dismiss a television software update message.
