My sky q mini box is too far from main box. Is there anything I can do?

I have changed the location of my sky q mini box and it is too far from the main box and signal won't reach. Works fine when nearer the main box. Are there any boosters available to connect the two? Or other solutions?

Hi @Thumpers1

Yes you need a Sky Q Wi Booster to position midway between the main Q box and the mini.

You need to contact Sky Directly to obtain one and they are supplied free of charge to aid Q connectivity issues.

It must be Sky Q WiFi Booster and not a normal Sky Broadband booster.

Hi,

I have called sky and they informed me the booster only works if you use their broadband. Is this correct?

I was under the impression the skyQ booster would boost the signal from the box regardless if who's broadband you use.

Many thanks

Sky should supply a booster: the key is to emphasise this is a Q television issue rather than one with more general WiFi.

A Q Mini won't stay connected to a non-Sky wireless signal.  One option could be to put an ethernet switch in the end of the cable, run the Eero off that for last cal WiFi and put the Mini on another ethernet port with its own wireless switched off.

Sorry I'm not very technical minded when it comes to this, are you basically saying if I run an Ethernet from my plusnet router straight into the mini box that would work
