@Gsdcrazylass
If it displays no satellite signal take a look at the troubleshooting here
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If you’re on a communal dish system in the UK you’ll have to contact your landlord or building management company rather than Sky.

Hi @Gsdcrazylass

If you can get into the Q box menu!111
Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.

Resetting the settings will also reset:

Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

@Jan67

The dish might need re-alignment especially if you'd had the strong winds from the recent storms.

Whenever a “no satellite signal” message is displayed firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Also check out the troubleshooting on this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish.

A misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels. If you’re on a communal dish you may initially need to liaise with your landlord or building management company.

my Sky Q box is starting to show this error almost daily now, if I unplug for a few seconds and turn back on the signal is back 100% so defo not a dish issue, Qbox is +7 years old now so maybe its just at the end of its life ? Have tried software update too but no fix

@SKYQwSKYfiber

More likely a dish issue so complete the troubleshooting in my earlier post.

Re: My sky q box says no satellite signal. No apparent problems with the dish

Bit late to this discussion but we had a similar problem on our Sky Q box. We are on a communal dish and it eventually transpired that, following a software/firmware update, the LNB setting had defaulted to 'Wideband'. This is the setting for an individual satellite dish, not a communal one. For communal dishes it essential to change the box to 'SCR', then reset, all done via the engineers menu. This cured the problem.
