Sky q box is 8 years old, and I'm now getting problems.
recordings are glitchy ans sometimes stick and need to press fast forward to continue.
when fast forwarding it sometimes doesn't move forward but moves back and forth.. it is behaving like there are bad sectors on the disk and the recordings are struggling with it.
also now getting connectivity issues between the main 2TB sky q box and the mini boxes. They are all hard wired and the network infrastructure is good. It's only the sky boxes having an issue
is a simple fix a new (updated) sky q box?

If, after contacting Sky, they arrange a 'doorstep' box swap just remember to remove your viewing card from the current box before it disappears into a DPD van.

The boxes are loaned. So if there is a fault Sky will replace them.
But they will usually only replace like for like (Although they may not have 2TB boxes). They won't usually 'upgrade' (e.g. HDR) without paying a fee.

Many thanks,
spoke to customer services and they are sending a replacement unit. A bit miffed as had to pay £99 for the hdr box as they said they only replace like for like. I said that when I got the original box hdr wasn't an option.. but looking forward to the new hdr box arriving soon!
