Sky sent me a new Q box and its stills flashing red and amber, and says it is up dating software 1 of 2 then 5 minutes later it repeats itself

Try this below and see how you get on.
If you can plug the box into Ethernet then I would recommend doing so.
To complete the recovery procedure on your main Sky Q box:
If the lights don't show after 30 seconds, repeat steps 1 to 3. If it still doesn't work, you'll need to order a replacement box .
If the screen freezes on Updating software Step 1 of 2 instead of going to the start up screens as expected:
Most features will work straight away, but some can take up to 5 minutes to return.
If you're still having problems, you might need to order a replacement box

I tried that many times with the old box. Sky sent me a new box and its still the same problem even with new cables and remote. Engineer is coming out on the 23rd April. Thank you for answering my problem
