My replacement SKY Q box crashing and whirring overnight

Others have stated that. 1TB cures the issue!! I shall be testing that after the 14th Feb and update y'all further 👍🏻

Someone else tried my idea of putting a 100Mb switch between the sky hox and router and said it still crashed. You could try it but I'm even less confident now that it's a 1Gb connection issue than I was before.

Sounds good. In that case, I'll contact Sky to have them send me a 1tb Sky Q box and hopefully that will solve the issue.

A week on from Sky engineer replacing 2TB box for a 1TB box and all is well........

Not crashed or frozen once.

It's only taken 14 months to resolve 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

Well, for what it's worth , my less than two year old 1TB Sky Q box (Hardware version 32B212) started exhibiting this issue last week.

I don't have an EE router, I have the Sky router. My Sky Q box is connected via ethernet cable via Powerline (max 500 mbps, so in reality probably considerably less than that). I've tried without the ethenet cable using wifi and that didn't do the trick either.

So as to what is really causing this issue....who knows.

Mine has also been doing this for over a week now and I also have Sky Broadband.
