Re: My new router will not connect to my sky q box using the wps button

Hi @Cathy2411  As another SkyQ user with broadband , I would like to help you.

Even though my Sky Broadband box is hard wired to the skyQ box > lately the wifi & internet been dropping out at random times at night.

I've had to reset the system a few times now.

Can I ask if it's the newer white bb box or the original black one?  Presuming your wifi isn't working either?

Calling Sky help on 150 can often get someone to walk you through the reset steps.

I switch off the TV by unplugging it, same with bb box. Wait 20mins.

Switch on SkyQ box & bb box.  If you have the black BB box , locate a tiny button at the back, needs held in (need a pen or small toothpick) a couple of minutes.

Usually it resets itself after power off,,  only the last time I had to locate that tiny opening & press in to help reset BB with skyQ box . The row of lights on bb box should all be orange (on the black BB box type I have)

Hope this helps.

@Cathy2411 if you have the newer white broadband router then the best way to connect it to the Sky Q box is to treat it as a third party router and search for the router then enter the wifi code using

WPS is not advised for the white router

If you have the black router try reseting the router with the button on the back then when it is back up and running try using the WPS button
