Contact Samsung Customer support. They are aware of the problem. I allowed the agent remote access to my TV he did something in a hidden menu for HDMI settings and been okay since. However I thought the problem was sorted previously only for it to return, so fingers crossed this will do the trick. If not at least I've registered the problem with Samsung.

Brand new Samsung QN90D.
Everything up to date. Proper Monoprice certified HDMI cable. Didn't encounter this issue on previous TV.
The no signal issue happened around 1 in 3 times when turning on the TV. Only fix was to turn off power to the Sky Q box.
Fixed by changing the SkyQ output from 2160p down to 1080p (settings, Setup, audio& visual, resolution). It's not happened since (4 days).
The upscaler on the TV takes care of the picture so it still looks good.

Did you set the HDMI inputs in the tv settings to input signal plus?

But you can't get UHD content that way
that just sounds like a ropey cable to me.

I've had this issue for a while and after reading this thread I've tried factory reset tv and update sky q software, it worked for a few days on uhd 10bit but unfortunately started again.
As a result I set my sky q back to uhd 8 bit and so far it's not happened again. But now I've said that it probably will.

I'll soon find out when the Sky engineer visits tomorrow.

How did you get on with the sky engineer?

Initially ok but it's not solved the porblem.
Pulling the hdmi cable out the back of the sky box & putting it back in works but it's a bit annoying

What did the engineer actually do?

Replaced the HDMI cable & told me to check the Anynet+ function & set to off.
like I said don't work. Apparently it's a setting on Samsung TV's that cause an issue but I don't understand what the issue really is apart from being annoying.

You could try asking in here https://www.avforums.com/threads/owners-thread-samsung-qn90d.2517910/ but not many contributors unfortunately...

So I used samsung help via TV menu as the same issue started on my Soundbar, a strange accented woman called me, I gave her access to my TV whilst she said words I didn't understand. She flddled around on hidden TV menu like someone stated in a previous response, it seems OK now but it's only been 2 days. Fingers crossed.
