 Can you describe this hidden menu?I would think this might be the service menu and she either reset the hdmi ports or installed a firmware update to them...

The guy that took remote control of my tv, reset the HDMI ports which worked for a week or so.

The problem returned and I was then asked to upgrade the sky HDMI cable, which I have done no further problems. Two weeks without issue

Mines only lasted 2 days, very disappointing. I've changed my hdmi cables already so can't see that solving it for me.

All I know about the menu was it was  black with very small coloured writing, resetting hdmi sounds familiar.

I speak too soon 

turned on Sky box tonight and the same message displayed. I will be contacting Samsung again and requesting reimbursement for the cable. Is there anyone from sky following this thread,  that can provide an update

I've tried yet another new hdmi cable to no avail. So yesterday I decided to turn off hdmi control in settings and just use the remote to turn on TV and sky q, this so far has been OK.

Go into Settings - General - External Device Manager - Input Signal Plus and turn off whatever HDMI your Sky Box is connected to.

 

Worked for me and has been fine since before Christmas.

This issue for me only came about after switching to UHD 10 bit which is frustrating. If I go back to 8bit it's been flawless for months. 

shame because I like the idea that 10 bit is better! But don't know how well I can see the difference 🙂

Oddly for me it seems ok if I press the home button to turn the sky box on rather than the power button? Been ok doing this for about a month now. Will keep an eye on it.

It's only relevant for HDR content, so depends how much of that you watch.

a fix for this is buy a 2.1 HDMI high speed 48 GBPs cable. You can get an Amazon basics one for cheap. It will fix your issues.

The odd thing is tho, the 10 bit works fine if I set it on the sky Q and also once the tv is running. 

why should the cable affect the turn on only?
