Re: My new Samsung tv not recognising Sky Q box. Says no Signal and check power device
Just when you first turn the tv by pressing the sky button on it doesn't detect a signal.
if I then switch inputs or turn the sky box on and off with the tv powered it then runs along happily

Re: My new Samsung tv not recognising Sky Q box. Says no Signal and check power device
Hello,
I'm having the same issue. It's only happens after I've been watching channels in UHD EG sky sports .
The TV I am using is a Samsung Model number is:
QE55QN85DBTXXU
Software version: T-PTMDDEUC-1301.0
last time it happened was around 11am this morning.
It's the main Sky Q 2TB box. Connected by new high gold plated quality fast MDMI. Was also happening with previous MDMI cable.

The quickest work around I've found is go unplug the sky HDMI cable from the TV port then plug it back in.
TV detects new HDMI connection and allows setup.

No proper solution that I've seen I'm afraid. I've had the TV over a year, got tired of unplugged and replugging all the time, ended up switching to sky stream.

Re: My new Samsung tv not recognising Sky Q box. Says no Signal and check power device
When I contacted Samsung just after I purchased the TV they told me to buy a upgraded HDMI lead. I did this and it made no difference.

What worked for me was getting a new HDMI cable. I could be wrong but i am sure i upgraded to an ultra high speed cable and that provided a permanent fix.

Re: My new Samsung tv not recognising Sky Q box. Says no Signal and check power device
Hi Eddy321
This is a post I submitted earlier in this thread but it might be worth a try.
I've had Samsung Smart TVs and Sky Q for a number of years. Although the problem it relates to is the two second black screen issue long plaguing Samsung TVs and Sky Q boxes the best solution I found was to reset the TV to factory settings ensuring during setup the TV identifies and connects to the Sky Q box. What I find is that because the TV has its own settings for each connected device these can become corrupted and occasionally the settings cache needs cleared out and a clean install performed. It’s a bit of a bind but if you have a Samsung account and save your apps it can make it less of a hassle, even though you still have to log in to each of your apps when you come to use them. I have not cured the black screen issue even now as Sky Q and Samsung Smart TVs still seem not to have totally resolved their connection issues. but i've not experienced the total failure to connect that seems to hit other Samsung TVs
Hope this helps but it’s not entirely fool proof.

Re: My new Samsung tv not recognising Sky Q box. Says no Signal and check power device
Thank you , was just about to order a ultra hdmi cable to see if that makes a difference, however I do think it's only happened since the software update so feels to be software rather than hardware, I'll give the factory reset process a go , so I take it when I hit the reset button make sure the sky Q box is running

Re: My new Samsung tv not recognising Sky Q box. Says no Signal and check power device
Yep. Then run the TV set up and it will find it and try to connect. BTW i am still using the original Sky Q HDMI cable. Also check that it is in the right port on the TV as that could make a difference. Check which HDMI port Samsung recommend
fingers crossed
