I have the same problem with 2024 55"Q60D QLED . The TV worked fine straight out of the box. But now when turned on I get the error saying Sky tv box is not turned on but the LED on the box is showing green. The only way I have found to get the tv to recognise the box is by rebooting the Q box. Has anyone got a proper solution to this yet as I have an engineer visit booked for tomorrow AM

Yeah, same for me. New QN90D QLED NEO, but problematic with Sky Q UHD Box. Reported this to Sky and they have sent out a replacement box.
Started off OK, for a couple of hours! then the issues returned. I have followed all the advice ref factory reset for tv, update software for both box and tv, correct cables and cec settings and so on. Very frustrating. The best I have come up with is to switch on and off, using the sky remote, with a long press followed by a short press on the buttons. Seems to work. However, the picture still goes black, momentarily and occasionally. Why?? I think I may have to return the Samsung and go back to Sony. OR, cancel Sky. OR, both?

@cuke @Yes I've reset TV, receycled Sky box many times and changed the HDMI cables without success.

We have now moved onto Stream, but not for that reason. We reset our Samsung and didn't reset the log in or connect the TV directly to the internet. The problem then went away for ever. Hopefully it might work for you👌

So Engineers visit complete, new main box new mini box new dish / LnB and cables. Engineer said he was unaware of any compatibility issues with Samsung tvs. We will wait to see if the issue is resolved.

Most tv manufacturer's track your viewing habits, and have been for just as long as any other. It's not spying at all. Supermarkets have been tracking customer purchases for years, unless you pay in cash.
Samsung tv's outsell their nearest competitor by nearly 2 to 1, thus it should be expected to have a bias towards more issues being posted. Also those who don't have any tend not to post anyway.
Example: the 2024 LG G4 was released with a HDMI issue that affected the majority of their tv's. They did resolve it with a firmware update but that in itself introduced further bugs, specifically with some SkyQ owners.
I just think these days there isn't a perfect tv out their with no issues what so ever.

Hi; I'm in the same issue. Got a new Samsung tv (Samsung QN800C 85) but it keeps saying the power on the Sky Q (main) box isn't on but it is.
The Sky Q box is working as all my other mini boxes wouldn't be working if it wasn't powered on.
I've tried all sorts of hdmi cables and but nothing is working. If I turn off all switches and put them on then Sky shows but the moment I power down the tv and put it back on the Sky connection drops off again.
Could someone help please?

Please see the post above yours. I think you've answered most of the points but not all. Don't think there is a known diagnosis or solution yet.

All my sky equipment was replaced recently due to this issue and everything worked as it should upto this morning when I turned on the tv and got the message about power not on. I find if the sky q hdmi is unplugged from the tv and then plugged back in my tv then recognises the sky box.
not an ideal solution but works until a proper solution is found

Hi all,
Thank you for the example that's come through so far.
In order to take this further we are going to need a lot more users providing the details shared in my answered message. Once we have a good quantity of user examples giving the above information we will be able to take this further.
Thanks,

My TV is still not talking to the sky box
when the tv and sky q box are in standby and the home button is pressed in the sky q remote the tv turns on and the sky box comes out of standby with a green light showing in the front on the box. However the tv says that the connected sky box is not powered on.

@RobertHaines wrote:My new Samsung tv keeps not connecting to Sky Q box. It says no signal and check power device. The only way I can get it to connect again is reset Sky Q box. I spoke to Samsung but they told me it's an issue with quality of hdmi cable. I am using hdmi cable that came with the Sky Q box. Samsung said I should use high-speed HDMI cable or HDMI 2.1 cable. Anybody else had this issue?
Have you tried turning on the tv first, this usually works fine with my S95D and Q90R Samsung tv's. This method turns on the Sky box automatically.

Hi, thanks for all the comments. I have tried to turn the tv on but sadly it doesn't solve the issue.
the only way it keeps recognising the Sky Q box is when I fully power on and off the tv at the socket which can't be right. The tv has no faults as this was checked by Samsung. At a loss with this one.
