My mini box shows accessibility on sky but the remote won't work to let me skip

Reset the box but the remote won't work to skip on the screen

Sky have suggested the following...

  • Unpair their Sky Q remote from the box by holding 4&6
  • Wait for the remote to flash
  • Then dismiss the information screen "Skip & set up later"
  • Hold 1&3 to repair the remote control

If 4&6 does not allow you to clear the information screen, try holding 7&9 to reset the Sky Q remote then hold 1&3 and follow the on-screen setup journey to allow the remote to control the TV.

i I have exactly the same issue, but none of the answers given so far work for me.  The remote is non responsive (no red led flashes) on any keys except when I press4+6 or 7+9 or 1+3.  These actions have no effect and I'm stuck on the accessibility screen.  Please help me, I'm pulling my hair out!

I pressed 1 then 3 and it worked

I am not 100% sure from your reply whether the 7 & 9 reset worked - so please can you try again - the Red LED should flash 4 times & you may need to hold 7 &9 together for several seconds before this happens

 

Once you have done that the remote uses infrared and must have clear sight of the box & you should be able to clear the message

 

Once that has cleared you can use the 1 & 3 to re-pair to the remote to the box & TV (again needs to be in line of sight of the box until it is paired)

Thanks for the ongoing support.  To be clear, I have this problem on the mini box.  The combination of numbers do not enable the remote to then enable me to move on from the accessibility screen. 1+3 led flashes about 8 times, but nothing.

hi @VEP 

 

you may not wish to do this but try doing the reset using 7 & 9 we have outlined to your main box remote  & use this to clear the message & then navigate the box.

 

Assuming this works it would indicate a problem with your mini remote which may need replacing

 

Do not use the 1 & 3 to pair the main remote to the mini as you will need to do that to re-pair with your main box

 

Once you have tried this do now press the 1 & 3 whilst in line of sight of your Main box to re-pair this

 

Of course I should point out, if you are not doing the steps correctly this could leave you with a remote no longer paired to your main box

Thanks so much for your ongoing support.   The message is on the tv with the mini box.  I have no issues with the main skyq box and tv.  Are you saying I can clear the message on the mini box tv via the main sky Q box?

As the remotes can work with any box, I am suggesting you temporaliy use the Remote that you usually use with your main box to try dismissing the message on your mini

 

To do this means resetting (by pressing & holding 7 & 9) the Remote you use with your main box so it is not specifically paired with your main box (Hence you may not wish to do this)  & then try using it to clear the message on your mini.

 

Once you have tried you will need to re-pair that remote back with your main box (by pressing & holding 1 & 3 when in line of sight of your main box)

On rereading your advice I think I know what you mean.  Use 7+9 on main remote to the skyq box and then use that remote to clear the screen on the mini box tv.  If that works then a) the mini remote is faulty b) use 1+3  the repair the main remote to the skyq box. Yes?

Not sure why this is not working for you, so I have escalated your post to a SKY support team, who, hopefully, will be in touch.

If you are using Safari I believe you must make sure that 'Hide IP address' is not checked in settings to be able to see it - if you have difficulty finding that setting then may be try accessing here with another browser
