My builder has cut off our Sky Q Service. Infuriating bots just send you round in maddening circles. How do I speak to an actual person about this?

@DeeBee1
Calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum, offer you online help or offer to send you a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

I'm curious, how did your builder "cut off your Sky Q service"? Cut a cable? Erected scafolding? Knocked your dish out of alignment?

Depending on what the builder has done Sky 'may' charge you to make right which I'm sure you'll be claiming off the builder.

Re: My builder cut off our Sky Q service. Infuriating bots can't help. How do I speak to a real pers
Yes, thanks, I know that. What I wanted was a way round it. Sorry, should have given more detail, my bad, I was pretty harassed at the time. I'm tech savvy and if it's user-fixable I'll do it, Google it, or Phone-a-Friend, but I can't fix the builder yanking the FTTP out with a digger. Yep. There was more to it, won't bore you, but ... that happened. Outstanding. TBF he did it with some style.
I tried the silence, plus other common hacks ('operator please', hash numbers etc etc), and nothing worked. I work from home and I'm a carer so I'm REALLY time poor on some days and can't stay on the phone long enough to wait through all the pre-recorded garbage, so I have to come back later and go through all the same rubbish again. They place a higher value on their time than the customer's, so they're happy to squander the customer's time. I think they have omnipresent Orc-bots who secretly live in your house and know what your problem is before you call and they can control the AI at Sky so that it gives you information of carefully chosen irrelevance v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.
Sometimes, people have hacks that can break through this annoying stuff, and I collect them obsessively - I have many for other companies and organisations, but not Sky - that's what I was hoping for. In the end I stumbled across a hack which I'm pretty sure was what got me thro to a person and I've shared on a non-Sky-owned platform elsewhere. Appreciate the reply - engineer booked. Thanks.

So it was your broadband they cut off, not your Sky Q? Albeit Sky Q has some internet dependencies.

Too tedious to explain honestly. One in a million. The stuff that wd help other ppl is how to get a real person at Sky rather than it's juvenile clunky bots trolls.
Tx to all for help.

I agree.. it's becoming REALLY annoying! The skybot is useless and the links they send you often don't provide the answer. Phone numbers are no longer easily accessible. I've been a customer for over 20 years, so if I call you can be sure I've tried everything else.
sky agent told me today they're planning more bots.
if you're reading this Sky, please don't! AI is not the panacea to any issue.!

No, but it's really tempting to cut staff costs as (for example) television advertising revenue evaporates...
Even at not a lot above minimum wage, thirty people is a million pounds a year. The Sky Group division of the Comcast Corporation lost £224,000,000 in 2023.
