My Sky tv signal is being blocked by trees on private land i cannot get a answer as to who is respon

My Sky tv signal is being blocked by trees on private land I can't find out who is responsible sky engineer said trees were problem and couldn't resite dish I would like to know what my options are in this matter have approached council and they say it is on private land and cannot help my contract is up next month and I will probably cancel if I can't find a solution

As you know the SKY dish must have a clear line of sight of the dish but tree growth can be problematical.

 

Unfortunately, I don't think you have any  rights to a clear view of the Satellite.

When it comes trees I think the only laws are probably regarding Safety & a 'right of light'.

 

If the tree is on private land all you can do is ask the owner if they will get it trimmed back but they may not do so. 

 

Unfortunately, you have no specific rights to cancel your subscription  early due to this  but if your minimum contract is due up then of course, you can cancel at that proint (but note notice period is a month) 

If your broadband is good enough, maybe you could consider SKY Stream

 

Are you able to tell how well the engineer checked for alternative positions for the dish ?

I think it could be sited at front of house as some neighbours have theirs sited

Wherever the dish is on a property, it has to be able to 'see' the same orbital location.
