My Sky Q box won’t show a picture on my main TV. The box is on but it doesn’t seem to connect to TV

I've checked the TV including Wi-Fi and box connections. 

The  mini box is working and I can watch Sky channels on the Internet TV connected to that box 

I have a separate amp connected. When I turn on the system the TV comes on first followed by the amp and then the Sky box.  It still comes on but nothing shows on the screen 

The  TV works and I can view Aps such as IPlayer 

I've  checked everything I can on screen and the internet and Sky box connection are both shown as good 

Any advice would be welcome

When it is all switched on and you have a blank screen I assume the Q box is on with green led.

If you switch the Sky Q box into standby with the Q remote do you get a brief second of video and sound on the TV.

If you do try rebooting your Q box.

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

I assume the sky box is not connected to the amp but the tv directly and the correct HDMI input is selected in the tv?

Thank you so much for this;  I had tried rebooting with no success but then I tried chaning the input between HDMI 1 and HDMI4;  interstingly that provoked the audio from a sky channel to come throuh albeit without a picture;

I then tried to use the oncreen TV settings to check for picture format;  After a lot of to and froing the home screen appeared momentarily - as you describe;

Eventually I was able to get the home screen albeit still with the volume from a channel not shown on screen {it was BBC4}

After that I recovered both sound and picture - but with little understanding of the "fix".  It seems to be working normally now.

Thank you for all the advice;  I have resolved the problem but switching between the HDMI input which strangely prompted the relay of audio through the sky box;  eventually after much fiddling with the on screen picture settings I recovered that too and its working normally.  I had been through all the suggested steps but thank you;  a review is always useful.

I think you are right and that it was a configuration issue;  I run my multiple remotes through a harmony system which means that you can use a single remote for audio tv sky and my tuner etc;  I wonder if the settings got mixed;  they sytem can be a little unstable.
