My SKY Q box is connected to another broadband provider and keeps losing connection.
I have connected the same network to my SKY Q box for years with no issue. Lately the network disconnects and I have to reboot router and Sky box and re enter wireless password. Some days it wont even find the the network and I have to just wait and keep trying and rebooting but it usually comes up eventually. However, although this ishappenig to my SKY Q box, other tvs and devices in the house reconnect straight away or dont have the same issue at all. For example my laptp for work runs perfectly on the wifi all day everyday, same as the sart phones. The Smart TV that my SKY Q box is connected to can find the network and connect with no problems. I contacted the WIFI provider who assured me that all tests that had been run were showing that there were no issues ther ened and they have advised that it is our device. Hence why I know it is the SKY Q box, there is no other explanation. What can be done about this? Thanks.

Re: My SKY Q box is connected to another broadband provider and keeps losing connection.
Hi @Pendaz86
Assume you are aware that with 3rd party Broadband your Sky box will only connect by WiFi to the router 2.4Ghz band..
If your TV set is receiving a good WiFi signal you could try using this as an Ethernet bridge by connecting it to your Q box by Ethernet.
When Q boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all Q box WiFi provided you do not have any minis on WiFi.
Then on the main Q box carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router. Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi. (If you have no WiFi minis)
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
