Moved to Vodafone Broadband - All was good for a month - No advertising the SSID of old Sky Router
Moved from Sky to Vodafone for Broadband following another price hike, all worked well for around a month. The Sky Q and mini boxes lost their network configuration one night, when I reconfigured back to the Vodafone network I found the Mini Boxes now advertising the SSID of the old Router that had been returned. Reading posts from others the Sky Q boxes setup a mesh network, but upon talking to Sky Technical support they have no means to remove this and multi-room is now only good for TV not to extend the wifi network around the house?
I am going to setup a hard wired ethernet network in an attempt to loose the mesh network?
Any ideas?

No doubt that full Ethernet is always the best option if achievable.
When all boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.
Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router (or Sky router if on Sky Broadband). Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
Repeat the network reset on any minis in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.
Once it is connected go into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Re: Moved to Vodafone Broadband - All was good for a month - No advertising the SSID of old Sky Rout
Gone the whole hog, hard wired the setup with Ethernet, small Ethernet Hub and switched off WiFI.
The setup works for TV as before but as soon as I turn WiFi on it advertises the old Sky Network!!!!
So did a factory reset to the mini box and Sky Q box - to lose all setting and tried again - well my old network has gone but it has tried to setup a new SKY network and refuses to advertise the Vodafone network. This was all working fine, what I really need is to know how to setup the mesh network?
Thanks for trying

If you followed the instructions fully in my post the Network ID shown on the Q box settings is irrelevant as it normally relates to the Sky Q WiFi mesh ID.
If you turn off all Q box WiFi the Sky mesh will not exist regardless of what ID is shown in the Q boxes settings.

I am trying to get the mini boxes to advertise the WiFi network, I have TV, so turning off WiFi defeats the objective.

As I have already tried to explain @Multiroom+Device
On 3rd Party WiFi minis will always show the Sky Q Mesh. They cannot and will not connect to any other WiFi then the Sky main Q WiFi.
If you have all boxes are connected by Ethernet on 3rd party broadband then why would you want any Q box WiFi on. It cannot be used by other devices and will only interfere with whatever WiFi or 3rd party mesh that you are using.

Re: Moved to Vodafone Broadband - All was good for a month - No advertising the SSID of old Sky Rout
I was thinking of moving from Sky BB to Vodafone but after reading this forum and others, they all say the same thing- issues with connecting wifi! I have Sky Q and 2 minis and no way to connect the Q box via ethernet so going to a non-Sky BB seems like a bad idea. Its also bad that Sky make it near impossible for customers to not be on their BB.

There are other options than getting ethernet cables run through the ceiling voids. Powerlines work for many and are pretty painless and cheap.

Don't forget that posters are likely to be the ones with problems - the vast majority who don't have problems don't have any need or wish to post
Thus reading forums like this can give a biased view of the likelyhood of problems
It should not be assumed that switching internet provider will cause you to have problems with the minis
