They are not connecting to my broadband or my main sky q box. So the first issue is, how do I get them all back on line and working?
second issue is that one of the mini boxes won't connect to sky q remote. I've tried reactivating the remote by pressing 7 and 9 but the remote does not flash red. Because of this I can't progress further because I can't get into settings
Help!

Hi @white-cross
First try resetting your broadband router.
If on Sky broadband hold the Reset on the back of the router until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your router while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.
If on 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
If you are on Sky Broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.
Once the main Q box is back up and running reboot the minis. Start with one neares to your Q box.
To reboot press Standby on your mini remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your mini box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your mini remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)
If the mini still does not connect try a Network Reset on the minis. Start with the one nearest to the main Q box
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).
If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button. If you get the first mini connected then for other minis use WPS on the nearest Q device (main Q box or Sky Router if on Sky Broadband or previously connected mini).
Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.
If you cannot get one of the mini remotes working try pairing the other mini remote to the mini with issues.

Hi @oldfella
Would the procedure you describe reset the router to factory settings? If so, that's something I'd be very unhappy to do

No @white-cross
Its just a reboot

Hi @oldfella
Just as I feared, I'm afraid, the system reset to factory settings, and everything crashed including my printer, hive heating and Alexa. Anyway all back up and running now
Good news is 3 of my mini boxes are now up and running. Thanks a lot
The fourth one still won't connect to the internet. I get stuck on a screen asking me the first of three questions and I can't move on because the remote is not connecting to the mini box. I've tried pressing 7 and 9 then 1 and 3. But the remote never flashes red. If I could re establish connection, I think I could get it up and running
id be grateful for any hints!

Hi @white-cross
You just need to press and hold 7 & 9 first (don't continue with 1 & 3 at this stage).
This will set the remote to infrared mode which will control all Q boxes in line of sight.
Of the remote led does not flash four times when you press and hold 7 & 9 then it has low battery or is faulty. If this is the case you could do the same procedure above with anther mini remote.
Once you get the remote into infrared mode make sure that you are pointing it at the mini and you should be able to move on with the setup.
Any remotes you reset to infrared will need pairing again once the boxes are running.

Hi @oldfella
yeah, the only problem with that is that I've tried two remotes and neither of them flash red. Changed batteries. No difference

Hi @white-cross
Try the other remotes. If the LED on the remote does not flash four times when you press and hold 7 & 9 together then there is an issue with the remote.
Edit
I assume they are Bluetooth remotes with voice control

Hi @oldfella
Successful at last. Phew! The third remote I tried worked. Luckily it was a spare one so I was able to re-pair it with that mini box and the TV. I still find it difficult to believe 2 remotes were faulty, but there you go! For various reasons I have several spares!
Thanks so much for your patience and help
