I had the same issue starting in November. An engineer came out and changed the Mini Box - same problem, changed the main box - same problem - suggested switching to Sky broadband - did as I was due to renew with BT - Sky fibre installed this week - same problem. logging another call - I am also going to ask for a rebate as had no service in my family room for 3 months now.

Update - was on the phone and the engineer talked me various changes/setup. We booked an engineer in however in the meantime, I also updated the wifi around the house (mesh and powerlines). My SkyQ box was fairly new but since then, all good. Not sure what it was exactly but I reset everything and started again. Maybe a kick and better wifi has helped but so far so good.

Can I ask where you hard wired the mini box to! Was it the router or main sky box?

I've now had the engineer out twice and where I've ended up is:
- there are two boosters installed creating a sky mesh and the two mini boxes use the wifi via the boosters
- the main box is cabled to the router using develo electrical system plug-ins and the wifi is turned on to connect with the mini-boxes. I had to rest the main box network connection to be cabled, not wifi, to the router. I tried wifi to the router (as advised by the engineer) but everything kept freezing and I got internet error messages - however there was no! problem with the actual internet. It was the main box wifi to the router that didn't work.
So far, two weeks of everything working. Knock on wood.

I had last engineer come out and he replaced, booster, main router and main sky Box... now it all works fine just don't know what the cause was but my guess was 6 year old main box....

Yeah we've just had engineer out and changed 2 mini box's and the main sky box but the mini is still freezing or needs rebooting to get to work.. with how much it cost for all that I'd expect it to at least work a little bit! Bloody sky.

I'm pulling my hair out, main box and mini box replaced about 6 weeks ago. Working great. I already had booster in the hallway. But the bloody mini box is now decided to go back to freezing making programmes unwatchable 🤬 engineer booked again for the weekend

So update.. we had another engineer out that makes 5... last one hard wired it all and it worked ok for a few week... now back to mini box losing signal and having to be unplugged and rebooted to make it work! Main box sometimes needs a reboot too! Not sure if dish isn't at right angle or it's our location! Have set the wheels in motion to cancel it as I can't take anymore it's so frustrating!! 🤬🤬

My mini box also freezes on sky programmes, it is connected ok to both Q box and intetnet and all spps work ok through sky mini box !
mini box is wired network, good internet.
is my problem tje mini box ?

I had brand new Sky Q installation 15th August 2024. Worked great for a week, now the mini box needs rebooting or resetting every day. Tried to watch football today and I keeps freezing and stopping and starting.
This is the second mini box already. Unusable on wifi or wired. Amazon Firestick, Xbox, and TV all work perfectly on wifi or ethernet cable.
Main Sky Q box and service are excellent. Mini box is a waste of money.

Got a mini box and it freezes especially channel 4 was tested remotely told mini box has a problem. Did a doorstep swap for a new one same problem just restarted mini box still freezing. I would like to know how it works as both main and mini hard wired so is there wireless coms between main box and mini as one is behind two walls so could be struggling but mini says connected but no signal quality so this weekend back on phone to technical and see what they can do looking at these posts repeaters or change of main box🥴

Just another sad lonely customer, with the same problems as everyone else on here. Lonely, because, the tv is really important to my disabled wife. We had the Q set up when it first came out, and untill about three months ago, its worked fine. Now its a continual freezing, spurious sky statements and announcements, all proceedures carried out to the letter, but still no improvement. When we took out the Q contract, we were promised trouble free, instant engineer visits, and world peace. Now I'm resorting to engaging with the laughable "intelligent help" robot.
If my wife didnt rely on Sky so much, I'd bin it. £65 a month, and high blood pressure just aint worth it.

See, no one gives a fig for you, at Sky, oh we're here to help you and all that malarkey, and you cant speak to someone, even though we were promised so as VIP people. (Laughable customer service). 8th of Feb this year and still no help. I've put up with it, as its ok some days, but 70% of the time it still freezes.
Please, for the love of a god , help!!!!
