Main Sky Q won’t turn on and making loud noise

Hi,

my sky box is turned on plugged in to power etc and showing power light as red but sounds like an aeroplane about to take off - it was that loud this morning when I woke up that I could hear it upstairs (TV and sky box down stairs in living room) - I can't get it to turn on at all to get a menu/settings on or to watch anything.  I've tried disconnecting from power and and restating  with no luck and also unplugging the box from the Ethernet cable. 

any suggestions? Been offered a visit from an engineer in 17 days time 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sounds like you need a new box.  Call them and ask for a box swap (Remember to remove your viewing card).

Thanks @PandJ2020 for your response. I would have thought a new box is required too but they said I should wait for the engineering in 17 days time. Seems a long time with no ability to use the Main box or the mini box.
