MY APPS PASSWORD AND APPS HAVE VANISHED FROM SKY Q MINI BOX SINCE LAST WEDESDAY MORNING

I 'M A DISABILED SKY Q SUBCRIBER I HAVE BEEN  WITH SKY FOR  OVER  24 YEARS AND MY CARERS CAN'T UNPLUG THE SKY BOX AND I'M PAYING THE TOP PACKAGE   BUT IT WASN'T ME WHO UPDATED THE SKY SOFTWARE   200 OR SKY Q HARDWARE ON MY SKYQ BOX, NOW I BEING TOLD TO WAIT UNTILL 10TH JANUARY2024  TO SORTOUT THE SKY Q MINI BOX ,I VE THINKING  OF LEAVING AS THIS IS THE WAY OF TREATING THEIR LOYAL DISABILED COSTUMERS IS IT. AS ITS FUNNY I HAVE GOT APPS ACCESS ON SKY Q MAIN BOX BUT NOT THE  SKY Q MINI BOX   IN MY BEDROOM.

Why can't your carers unplug the Sky box? I'm presuming you/they are trying to reboot the main box.

 

If you're having to wait until 10 January for an engineer, that will be the earliest available appointment in your area I'm afraid. They'll be very busy with call-outs after the recent storms have moved/damaged satellite dishes.

DANIAL MY CARERS CANT TOUCH ELECTRICIAL EQUIPTMENT  AS IT PART OF THE CARERS HEALTH AND STAFTY  RULES.

If that's in their policy that's fair enough. What about asking a family member, friend or neighbour? 

 

To reboot the box…
~ Using the remote put your main Sky Q box into standby
~ switch the box off at the plug
~ wait at least 30 seconds and then switch the box back on at the plug
~ follow the on screen instructions
~ when the screen goes blank and the blue Q stops pulsating wait another 30 seconds
~ press the 🏠 button

Then unless you can ask a (local) friend it looks like you'll have to wait until 10 January although in the meantime you could see if there's been a cancellation.

 

By the way, if you aren't signed up already it may be worth you registering with the Sky Accessibility Team who may be able to help you now or in the future. Once registered there are also different methods of communication with this team
