Loud humming/ vibration from SkyQ box
We've recently bought a new media unit with the Sky Q box on display rather than in a cupboard. My husband has sensitive hearing and the noise/ vibration from the box is maddening. He's convinced there is something wrong with it. Can anyone advise.

Re: Loud humming/ vibration from SkyQ box
A main Q box has both a spinning hard drive and a cooling fan: either can be a source of noise, and some are definitely louder than others.
Some users have found a silicone mat underneath can dampen vibration.

That's not really adviseable. Sky Q boxes generate heat and if the flat top of the box is upside down & placed flat on a surface there is nowhere for the heat to dissipate. That's the reason for the feet and clearance under the box - this also allows air from the cooling fan to escape.
