Loss of sound from my Sky Q mini box

I've lost sound completely when watching channels through my Sky Q mini box. My Sky Q is working fine. I've re-booted the Sky Q box and still the same. The TV is fine as I did a sound test but I get no sound through the TV when I use the Sky Q mini using either the TV's internal speaker or through the soundbar.

Although the TV may seem OK we sometimes find that a full power down restart of the TV can restore sound. 

 

Also if you haven't done so try taking out the HDMI Cable completly and re-seating it in the SKY Q box & TV

Thank you for the suggestion. Although I was a little sceptical.....I gave it a go and it's fixed the problem!!! Can't believe the amount of time I've been 'wasting' on re-booting the system, taking the soundbar offline, etc, when I just needed to power off the TV to reset it! Happy that I have sound again but I do feel a bit of an idiot!!

You are not alone - I know when I first suggested it to someone it was very much clutching at straws & it is clearly not obvious when it otherwise seems to work. 

 

It may not work for everyone but at least I now have enough knowledge that it does work for some. 

 

Really glad it sorted you & you can now settle back and enjoy whatever you have planned to watch
