For some weeks my tv will suddenly switch off from sky a and change to a screen that says account action require and shows all sorts of options like Netflix tnt sports etc etc. In order to cure the fault I have to switch everything off, wait 30 seconds and let it reboot. I have spoken to three so called customer service reps, all of whom are based in India, speak too fast, are virtually incomprehensible and all try and fix the problem via instructions over the phone. This cures the problem for a short while but it returns. They finally sent a new sky box and controller, which I duly set up but over the space of two days the same problem occured three times. After I insisted that I needed an engineer visit they booked one for Friday 27 th June (2025) ! I have repeatedly tried to find a phone number based in the uk (England) but was eventually told by one agent I spoke to that the system operates randomly and you have to take pot-luck with who you speak to and where they are based. I am getting fed up with trying to make myself understood and get the problem sorted out. Sky charge a lot of money for their service but make it virtually impossible to speak to someone wha has the authority to get anything done. Has any one else had similar problems and have they found a solution? Geoff D , based in Norfolk uk

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my post. I have followed the advice about the tv being at fault and have now tried a different tv which seems to have cured the problem. Once again many thanks to all who took the time to comment. GeoffD1

Re: Losing the programme due to a fault in sky box
This sounds like something the TV is doing.
Have you tried a new cable in case it's in response to the signal being lost / unsynced.

Re: Losing the programme due to a fault in sky box
Thanks, this is something I had thought and I have tried a new cable but the problem remains. One of the puzzling things is that the occurrence is random. Sometimes it happens as soon as I switch on, other times it happens some while after (annoyingly in the middle of a programme). Thanks again.

Re: Losing the programme due to a fault in sky box
@GeoffD1 I agree with @Chodley . It sounds more likely the TV displaying those messages rather than the Sky Q Box (especially as a replacement box didn't help).
Next time it appears see if the TV's own remote will interact with the messages.
