@NattieJ1 It won't be the satellite, they are far to high up to hear a banging from and the forum would be overloaded with reports about the service being down.
You say Sky went off but what do you mean by that?
Has the box stopped working?
Are you getting any error messages?
Have you looked to see if your dish has moved or come loose?
So have you looked outside to see if you can see the cause?

So if you're now getting a "no satellite signal" on any channels, check out the troubleshooting on this link https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish (it’s not something that will necessarily be visible to the naked eye).
