Just got a new tv and every time we turn it on we have to reset the sky Q box by turning it off and
Just got a new tv and every time we turn it on we have to reset the sky Q box by turning it off and on again. It's connected by hdmi cable had no issues with this connection on the old tv. Have checked all the setting and they seem fine. Once sky has rebooted it works fine until we turn the tv off again!

Hi @swarb1811
Assume you are putting the Q into standby with the remote when you turn off the TV?
Best way to operate is to turn HDMI Cec control on in both the TV and Q box Settings.
Then normal procedure is to turn the Q box on with a short press on the Q Remote power button.
You should find that when the Q box comes on it will also turn on the TV using Cec control.
Unfortunately the Q box will not turn off the TV using Cec control. So both the Q box and the TV need turning off independently with the Q remote. A short press for the Q box followed by a long (3 sec) press for the TV.

Yes using sky remote to turn off box. Next day when trying to turn back on won't turn on without unplugging. Have looked for HDMI cec unable to find anything like that. Not very technically minded!!!

Is the new TV a Samsung by any chance?
I assume you find that the power light on the Q stays yellow and won't respond to the remote.
There are a number of reports here of some people having problems like this with some Samsung TVs and some Q boxes.
It would be useful to know what TV you have, if its firmware is up-to-date and what version of Q box you have.
