Is there an ongoing issue with Sky Q boxes not connecting to the internet?

Hi,

For the last few months our Sky Q boxes (Main 2tb and 4 minis) have lost their internet connection around once a day for maybe a few minutes. This results in apps not working and crashing if you are in the middle of watching something on streaming.

All the boxes are on a wired network connected to our broadband (Virginmedia). the broadband has no issues and continues to work fine on all other devices. Indeed when this happens we sometimes switch to using the app on a Firestick and it will work fine.

Going through the forum, it seems like at least one person a day is posting with a similar issue. As many people have a wireless connection, this seems to be consistently blamed.

Our setup is not wireless and has been working fine for over five years.

My feeling is that maybe some kind of instability was introduced in software version 210 as there was no issue prior to this (I am just downloading v220 as I write). People are being fobbed off with the easy answer that it is their network even though all other devices seem to have no issue.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Hi

I have had issues on and off.  My sky q box is now not connecting to the Internet.  I have rebooted the box and router twice (both are Sky). However we have had no luck. We have now also lost connectivity to all the mini q boxes as well. This is so frustrating considering the amount we pay a month.

I am now on hold to sky protect and the wait time is 30mins...

There's a giant thread somewhere. Mine does it from time to time and it always will.
