Is my main box slowly giving up the ghost.

Hello community, need a bit of your usual great advice.

Last Sunday was watching live tv,went to change channel, remote did nothing, nothing would work, wouldn't turn box to standby or anything.Pulled the plug and powered up after a minute, everything fine and has been until today.First one up as always this morning main box had green light on,very unusual as always put on standby before bed.Turned tv on first and screen was black, pressed remote to power off sky box and wouldn't respond.Powered of at wall again and everything came back fine.Home from work tonight and my son said that his Sky mini last night suddenly cut out at midnight for a few seconds and then did the start up process with the hello screen but wouldn't complete.

2tb box 4 years old

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi @hammerjeff

4 years is a good run, but it might just be glitchy due to a recent update.

In most cases a power cycle clears most ills, but you may need to reset the connection between main box and mini, plus a software update (both boxes).

You can check what the latest software versions are here.

You can troubleshoot a Q connection here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-permanent-connectivity-problems-v2

If still acting up, you will need a box reset, which Sky will make you do before agreeing to swap hardware anyway.
