When it was first installed, one of the minis was connected via the Q mesh, but that did have occasional issues, probably because there was a metal lined chimney and 700kg of cast iron cooker between the devices...

My setup uses Sky Q and Devolo Magic 2 powerline adapters (six units in totalaround the house and garage) with ethernet connections. Mini box connected with Devolo Magic 2 ethernet connection, no problem with any of it. This setup was done in the past month with a new fibre connection to the house.
The Devolo wifi mesh is used for the mobile phones and lap tops, I never use wifi for anything else.
Intresting thing to note the Sky Q box and mini was conneted originally via wifi on a mobile 4g connection, no broadband to the house at the time and all worked whilst mobile signal was connected. However the original name the boxes used stayed the same even when I disabled wifi and went to ethernet.

intresting.
can you clarify what you are actually running as it seems to be the same as me but I'm having quite a few issues.
i have sky q via Ethernet to my Sky Q router. My devolo magic is in the other room which runs a Ethernet cable into my sky mini which actually works fine but my wifi is terrible.
I can't get the magic to give a stable signal as whilst I connect to it on full bars it give no WiFi. The speed tests struggle to find my provider and when it does find my sky it just says error unable to complete test, check my internet connect. All whilst the mini runs fine.

When I had a similar set up I just used magic LAN extenders with no WiFi and used the Q boxes as WiFi hot spots.

Yes I am trying to use the devolo as a WiFi source aswell, I did see in another post somewhere how to turn the WiFi off on the Q boxes which I've done so I should only be getting WiFi from the router but ideally I want the devolos to generate a WiFi source aswell.
was kinda hoping it would just work but seems not.

I have ended up stripping out all the Devolo hardware and then resorting to creating a dedicated Wifi that only the SkyQ uses.
Still not faultless, but it is the most reliable setup we've managed to live with.
Occasionally the Sky boxes complain it's not connected to the internet, yet I can check the network & router and can see they are sending and receiving data!
So I stand by my original statement, the equipment is just not reliable or of suitable reliable quality that you would expect when compared to the fee Sky like to charge their customers.

Fair comment @cjw76 I hate wires so everything is connected wirelessly Sky Q and 2 Sky Q Mini boxes and a Sky Booster slung into the equation.
Sky Q router is some distance away from the booster and the Sky Q boxes all are in separate rooms located in the house.
Sky Ultrafast Fibre Broadband solid and stable connection most of the time.
No issues with XBOX S or PS5 when both are being used at the same time no complaints so far.
Plenty of devices connected Ring, Neos, Echo, Philip Hue
I've had the occasional lost connection which I can just about count on one hand
Yes the system may not be 100% perfect all the time but my setup works for me.

Been playing around with it all this morning, I've changed back the devolo SSID to something different to the Q router (Devolo advise it's the same) and been testing it on different devices, I'm still having issues but they seem to be restricted to my phone only (iPhone 12 Pro Max). I just can't get it to work on it, on everything else it now seems to be running ok.
ive been running a speed test in the room where my magic2 is located and switching between my sky user ssid and the devolo one with sky speeds typically 150-200mbps and the devolo one being 300-350mbps
I can live with this providing it stays as it is at present.

I'm not presenting this as an excuse, but it is undoubtedly a factor: I seriously doubt Sky would choose to go down that route now, but with something like twenty million Q boxes deployed it's presumably really tricky to 'fix' retrospectively.
The problem with the Q powerline was it was based on an obsolete spec which caused a lot of interference with other devices and on amateur radio bands. I can see the logic of trying to include a powerline option because it added an extra backhaul for AirTies to use, but the implementation was so wrong.
There isn't anything wrong with AirTies itself because it's at the heart of many commercially available large-scale mesh systems.

1 Gb Broadband router to Powerline via Ethernet. Sky Q connected to Power Line via Ethernet, Sky mini connected to Power line via Ethernet. All power lines have wifi enabled as mesh for phone and smart devices to connect to internet. Upstairs power line for wifi only. Magic 2 through out. Very rare any issues, similar set up when using the older 1200 modules. No wifi TV, Sky Q, Sky Mini or cube box.
