Intermittent picture pixelating only on BBC1 South since the changes a few months ago.

Picture pixelating only on BBC1 South. Channel selections were changes by Sky a few months ago previously all was fine.

Have cleared line of dish and checked for damage and inside connections all looks fine. Am currently using BBCi player to watch BBC1.

All other channels are fine

BBC One South HD is on the same frequency as:

505  CNBC HD

601  Cartoon Network HD 

603  Boomerang HD

When you have problems with BBC One are those channels affected too?

It is not a signal issue - it is a fault with the transmission.

I've seen it too on BBC1 South.

What I see is not like a signal issue where you get a row of pixels or even a whole screen. I see a block of pink pixels appear somewhere near the centre of the screen only.

We had it before a BBC1 found a fault.

It would be useful to know if the OP has a problem with the channels mentioned just to rule out a signal issue that might be separate to the issue you describe. The problem must be quite severe if they've resorted to watching BBC One via iPlayer and it's surprising there aren't more complaints if this is the case for everyone watching BBC One South.

Only 2-3 people reported it last time - but BBC found it.

It only lasts a fraction of a second and then goes for ages before occuring again.

It is just like 3 little pink squares popping up.

You can sit and watch the channels for hours without it happening.

It was confirmed last time as a couple of VirginMedia customers reported it too.

Might be  a different issue - but looks exactly the same as last time.

Also has the same problem when 505 is selected.
I do not have the other 2 channels enabled so cannot try those.

I too have the same problem with BBC1 South only. I live on a BBC tri-region reception area and my postcode is literally within 300mtrs of 3 different counties. Equi distant from Reading & Basingstoke and most other programmes feed from London region.

Thankfully on the rare occasions I actually feel the need to watch BBC1 I also have Freeview with the facility to record the channel problem free.

I have given up entirely with BBC1 South on Sky Q. The inability to switch regions manually on Sky Q is, in my opinion, a retrograde step. TBH I really don't have the time or willpower to try to contact Sky for a script reading remedy.

I would suggest Gillian19 needs an engineer visit as they've confirmed the problem is also affecting CNBC HD (505) on the same transponder so it seems like a signal fault.

I'm getting a thick row of pixels on BBC South East since the switch.

Could be just coincidence I guess but I'm somewhat suspicious..

I'm going to be moving house in the near future anyway so not really bothered by it..

If you're still having the issue it may be worth calling Sky to arrange a visit / go through some furthur troubleshooting

Sky engineer visited. Checked dish signal, Changed HDMI cable and HDMI port and fitted new dish cable to Q box connectors. All checked good by engineer. 

Problem still the same. 😕

Suggested as not a sky problem.

I'm not in the BBC South region but haven't noticed any problems on the other channels on that transponder. Are you still having problems with CNBC too? That's working fine for me so it isn't a national problem.
