Intermittent complete loss of satellite signal - not weather dependent - Sky Q box

For about 3 weeks I've had a problem with loss of satellite signal. At first it would be certain channels only, then just before the weekend it was all channels and permanent loss of satellite signal on all channels. Having a background in electronics and computing, carrying out all available checks and reboots, including checking the satellite cables at both ends, and actually re-making the F connectors ends at both LNB and Sky Q box, didn't help. I decided to pull everything apart and re-assemble and re-connect the system from scratch. On completing the reconfiguration, and still with no satellite signal, I turned the Sky Q box over to get the serial number and the satellite signal suddenly reappeared. Bad cable I thought, so I changed all that I could, HDMI, Ethernet and once again remade the F connector ends. Put the Sky Q box back in its place and the signal was still gone. I decided to use a power adapter to connect to the router, instead of a direct cable and as soon as I removed the ethernet cable the satellite cable reappeared. I connected the SkyQ box to the router via WiFi and its been running all day for the past  hours without a glich. What's the explanation. Thanks
