Im a pensioner and cant afford £103 a month. I want ro reduce it as virgin are offerinf samm for £69

My subscription is £103 and as I am a pensioner I can't afford it any more. I like watching football only and Virgin are offering same package I already have with sky of  broadband and TV with sky sports and netflix. Shall I take the Virgin option. I'm coming out of contact next month with sky

@Tarxien55  You would need to call Sky to negotiate a deal however Sky may not be able to offer it as low as VM

Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following link which will lead to contact details.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ The link may include an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.

If you successfully cancel you should receive an acknowledgment email from Sky.

If you are cancelling Sky Q, return packaging will be sent out near the end of your notice period. It’s important that you obtain proof of posting and keep it safe and indefinitely.

If you’re moving to another ISP you could use the One Touch Switching system which is explained in this link
https://www.uswitch.com/broadband/guides/one-touch-switch/

If you are cancelling Broadband/Talk altogether you need to contact Sky and give the required notice of 14 days. Remember that if you are still in a discounted 18/24 months deal Sky could impose cancellation charges.

Return packaging for any equipment Sky expect back will be sent out to you near the end of any notice period. Remember to keep any proof of posting indefinitely.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Just be aware that Virgin prices increase massively (usually much more than Sky) after the first 18 months. For example I can see a package offering 360Mb broadband and Sky Sports for £59 a month for 18 months, but then it rises to £150.

Also new Virgin TV subscribers now only get a stream box (similar to Sky stream) which doesn't record and relies on catch up instead.

Virgin increase their prices after 18 months when you can choose to leave although usually get offered big discounts to stay. Only difference with Sky is the contract is for 24 months.

My 24 month Sky contract is coming to and and the prices then go through the roof.

Best thing to do is switch provider at the end of the contract if it's a better deal.
