If ones tv has UHD / QLED / OLED 4K /ATMOS why do sky charge for their UHD /ATMOS etc

If one's TV has QLED/OLED/4K / UHD /ATMOS why do sky charge for this service would you not get the same preduction from one's TV when one has built in

That's the TV's capabilities - it completely relies on the signal that's sent to it.

Basically if you don't subscribe to UHD then it's fed HD only for example.

Even native in-built apps (say NetFlix) won't be UHD unless you pay for the appropriate subscription.

@onryctank

The difference is whether the television does the upscaling, or if it is fed 'native' content by Sky.

@onryctankI think I understand your question, it is because Sky is providing it through their system.

Yes

Some , although not all,  Streaming services also charge more for UHD

To get native UHD content, yes: Freesat and Freeview has no UHD transmission.

Yeah. It's like having an HDTV and a VHS player otherwise. Not doing you much good that the TV can show 1080p if the source is a ropey old tape.
