I returned my Sky Q Box on 9/1/2023 but Sky are now trying to charge me for non return

I cancelled my Sky Q  contract after being with Sky for over 20 years, I cancelled it because we were moving house but in the interim staying with my daughter until out house was completed.

I spoke to customer services about this and the only way was to cancel and then renew the contract at a later date once we were in the property, this I did and was sent the returns label and boxes to return the Sky Q box etc, I did this on the 9th January 2023 at the Whitchurch Post Office and was given a receipt, after a few weeks my husband cleaned the car and yes, he threw out all the bits of paper etc in the car.

I then received a text from Sky saying "Hi you must return the Sky equipment to avoid paying a Non Return charge" and how to return it, I sent a reply saying "I have returned it" but did not realise the text was not delivered as I presume it was one of these no reply texts this was on Friday 27th January 2023.  I am now being chased by CCSCOLLECT for £55.77 for non return of these items, which I have returned !  I have been in touch with the post office but obviously this is a major task for them to find a copy of my receipt, but surely my equipment had a serial number of some way of identifying that it was my equipment and also Sky must have a statement of charges showing what has been collected from certain district post offices as they must check to see if the charges are correct ?  This equipment is absolutely no good to me so why would I not return it.   I have been a customer of Sky for many years and feel that this is really poor customer service.

@Tavistock19

Unfortunately now your issue has been passed to a debt collection agency you can only deal with them. All Sky would be able to tell you is details and contact numbers for the debt collectors.

@Tavistock19  Also, once this has all been resolved, did you keep your viewing card for when you take out a new contract? Sky have a habit of not issueing a new card for returning customers.  If you didn't keep it, make sure you request a new card.

To be perfectly honest at the moment I really do not feel that I want to return to Sky as I have not been treated very kind for being a loyal customer of theirs for many years, perhaps BT has better customer service?

But thank you for that tip (Invisiblename)

This will be no concellation, but you are not alone - it's probably the most common complaint on here.  The link between the 3rd party company that deals with returns & Sky's account system is atrocious!

Customer service from sky is no good at all especially if you have been a customer for such a long time they take money of you but don't listen to anything you say.
