I need a new Sky Q Remote - I am deaf and live chat is always offline

My Sky Q Controller has perished and died - the casing is cracked and rubber buttons torn, and now no longer works

I ordered a generic Gvirtue controller, but sadly i cant get it to connect

I have read that contact sky they will issue a genuine replacement controller. After all, the equipment is theirs, not ours, which is part of the monthy fee

 

please can someone here arrange for a new sky q controller to be sent,

We can't arrange it but you can.


After checking the basics, ie; fresh batteries, re-pairing etc if your Sky Q remote is definitely broken/faulty, if you follow this link it should allow you to do some more troubleshooting and then it’ll send you to a form to request a replacement (I’m not sure if this is available to customers in the Republic of Ireland).

It may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer / larger supermarket. If you do that as well as the above you’ll have a spare.

In the meantime if you have an android or Apple device with Sky Go you can possibly set up a virtual remote to control your Sky Q box. See this link which may help

as i state - i am deaf  and i dont sign so i cannot call nor use the  signservice

it is stated on my account that i am deaf.

The live chat is still offline, does this ever work ?

Hi @Rebecca911   Why didn't you use the link provided to request a replacement remote? The link takes you to a form to fill in, no need for anything thing else or communication in any form.

As far as I know (I haven't had cause to use it) that form doesn't require any special communication. 

In general terms, if there are health issues involved that amongst other things may affect the ability to communicate, it may be worth registering with the Sky Accessibility Team who may be able to help now or in the future. Once registered there are also different methods of communication with this team other than phoning so have a look at these related links… ~
